Enforceable Laws Are Needed To End The Current Puppy Mill Crisis

The Puppy Mill issue has become an ever-increasing issue since California recently passed a law forbidding pet stores from selling puppy mill dogs.  This opens the door to selling shelter dogs which is what should be happening in all pet stores across the country.  Selling shelter dogs in the nation’s pet stores would help dramatically with the stray population problem facing our country, and would help keep thousands of dogs from being euthanized as is the case at present.  While there are legitimate caring breeders treating dogs humanely, there are many, many more that don’t.  This results in puppy mills producing thousands and thousands of dogs of which most aren’t sold and are either killed, die because of inhumane conditions or become strays.  We, as a country, can prevent this with enforceable laws to protect the dogs.  These changes can be accomplished on the local, state and federal level, but only with the combined support of those who care.  Please refer to the videos and links included in this post including this one published by PETA… https://www.peta.org/issues/companion-animal-issues/companion-animals-factsheets/puppy-mills-dogs-abused-pet-trade/  You can help in many ways, including sharing this post.   Thank you.
